Freewheel Safety Clutch Selector
Blue Torque heavy duty freewheel safety clutches let PTO-driven implements freewheel, protecting the tractor’s internal PTO pack from damage caused by sudden PTO stops and starts. A built-in adjustable disc-type safety clutch also protects against overload.
All clutches on this page are 200 mm (8″) diameter. All filters are optional.
Adjusting and Fitting
- Basic spring length: 31.75 mm (1 1/4″).
- Adjust so the clutch slips on overload.
- At 6 months, back off the springs to polish the discs.
- Re-tension clamp bolts after 8 hours of use, then every 40 hours.

Loose bolts = stripped splines.
Clutches must be covered with an approved safety guard; AS8409 fits 8″ clutches. Confirm HP rating, splines and rotation before ordering.
